Under Glass Paintings Museum is located in a historic building with the previous century architecture and is the second museum of its kind in the world. It is also the only private museum devoted to one of the branches of painting including a great collection of under glass paintings. The building of Sanati Museum is on two floors and the artworks of the late Ali Akbar Sanati, Iranian painter and sculptor, including 6000 paintings and a thousand sculptures made of stone, bronze and plaster are displayed at this museum.

The “Painting Behind Glass” museum, which includes beautiful and diverse works of this great art, is located in one of the old buildings of Tehran with architecture left from the last century.

This beautiful and spectacular building, which was built in 1309, was the residential house of Dr. Shaghaghi, which was purchased by the Tehran Municipality and rebuilt, equipped and ready to create a museum with the aim of introducing the art of “painting behind glass”. Khorshidi donated it to the Cultural Heritage Organization.

The subject of restoration of this building is under the collection of documentaries on the restoration of Tehran museums. Due to the construction operation in a long time process, the imaging of this work is done with a time interval and simultaneously with the progress of the project in different phases. (Beginning of imaging in August 2016)
